The Church of England Party start their election camapign...

They want a coalition with the Labour Party!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2957106/Church-England-takes-Russell-Brand-election-boycot-call-shocked-profound-effect-young-voters.html

And Miracles never cease, the Daily Mail were licking the Church's boots until very recently.

And Here the Church of England describe themselves! Take that log out of your own eye, WelbyDammned!

In an open letter they called for a ‘new direction’ in politics to replace a society they said is self-interested, fragmented, and badly led by politicians.

Welby noiseboxes aimlessly around. But there is a recruitment drive to send people to Mars, and of course they will need an Archbishop up there...

Church Politics

The church have produced another document, a 50 page 'Vote Labour' documents, even the very conservative news reporter had trouble keeping a straight face.

What is it that the Church do not understand about Christianity? Jesus did not influence voters, and people who had been awaiting the Long expected Messiah felt let down by that. It was the Pharisees who did the Politics and considered themselves God's servants.

I say again, the Church of England are the modern day Pharisees.

And just to correct my error of earlier on the Dean of Jersey  letter, I forgot until I was reminded earlier, the Dean's wife is the real Dean of Jersey, as I was told by a clergyman in Jersey in 2010. Maybe I should have addressed that letter to her.

A short letter to the Bishop of Durham on his continued nonsense in the House of Lords

14/01.2015

Butler,

Some idiot, because it has to be an idiot to take in your flannel and lies to protect the church and make it look good, has been trying to force your flannel and spin on me this morning.

As long as Jane Fisher remains in power at Winchester, and as long as you do nothing either about the whitewashes and conflicted reports and as long as you do nothing about Kendal House, you are a sham, a liar and a spin doctor, nothing else, and every time you abuse your power and mislead people, you are re-abusing victims, be quiet, or preferably stop being a sham safeguarding authority, because while you have been in a safeguarding position I have been relentlessly destroyed and had no voice and the church have continued where they left off destroying me in 2011, and I am shattered.
I made a clergy discipline complaint against you because why should the National CSA inquiry end up led by another CofE stooge so that the CofE are never called to account for their institutional abuse? And why should I go on suffering because the CofE have acted illegally.
Until you address these issues, you need to stop abusing your power in the House of Lords and the press, and you should be ashamed of yourself before God and repent.

For goodness sake, how long do we have to endure you? Former Bishop of Southampton protecting an abusive safeguarding officer? Do I have to go back to court to stop you re-abusing victims through misleading press articles and abuse of power in the house of Lords?
The church's pretence of care and responsibility at the expense of victims, use of victims for PR and self-glorification, is beyond the pale.

Stop wasting time glorifying a corrupt, abusive church that is there for the rich and powerful to console themselves that they are forgiven of their abuses, start doing something about the horrific injustice at Winchester and Kendal House, remove your friend Jane Fisher after her many illegal and seriously harmful actions, which are so glaring that even the Korris report highlights some, and she influenced that to protect herself.
Do something for the victims, who are suffering and do not need a fat man in a purple shirt using them in vainglorious boasts.

The CSA inquiry needs to be independent of the Church of England, not hijacked by it, you have managed to elect two Church of England leaders of that inquiry and both have been dishonest about their links that make them conflicted, much as Steel and Bailhache and others have been in the Jersey inquiry. So, for an honest and fair inquiry, the Church of England and their 'dignitaries' such as Butler-Sloss and Woolf, should be well out of the way, as should you. Please stop using the inquiry to glorify yourself and your corrupt and hugely powerful church, which exists for the rich and powerful to protect themselves.

Jesus wasn't up in government, showing off and abusing power, the Pharisees were. And for some reason the Church of ENgland fails to notice that they are not a Christian orgnaization, they are the modern day pharisees, they have wealth, power, influence in the press and government, dishonesty, abuse of the poor.
While Jesus had nothing, lived a simple life, had no influence in government and whatever media there was, he was on the level of the poor and needy, he was genuine.

You and your church aren't and cannot be genuine, not having left me destroyed by an almighty shambles that is all your making. You are the pharisees and you claim to be Christians, and I am sick of your noise in the press and House of Lords and I want you to go, and stop harming victims by dishonesty and pretending to care and investigate, you have never yet successfully investigated the Church's own abuse, even your Chichester inquiry was rife with cover ups and denials, such as that by your elected CSA inquiry chairwoman, Butler-Sloss, who's husband is rumoured to have visited child prostitutes.

Please stop misleading people, it isn't Christian, and the more the Church of England continue to veer from Christianity in favour of their image, the more you become a defunct pharisee organization, there to protect the freemasons and powerful position holders who use the church for their own needs.
There is no place in the church for the vulnerable, poor, disabled or children, such people are actively discouraged from being part of the church, not least when the old and very rigid and narrow minded people who like to 'own' the church make children out to be a nuisance or call an autistic visitor 'mentally retarded' and you have a secret apartheide policy against the vulnerable, wherein an abuser can visit the houses of vicars and church leaders, as my abusers could and did, but someone like me is secretly banned without being told why, and is left feeling rejected and hurt, and not because the church want to protect me from abuse, but because they want to protect themselves.

So until you resolve these issues, and until you resolve other issues such as a female General Synod member from Jersey proclaiming that 'Women Bishops are against God' (but apparently not women representing at General Synod) and then the Deanery of Jersey having to do what all other Diocese had to, even those against Women Bishops, and claim to be 'delighted' that there are women Bishops, even though the decision for women Bishops was forced on the church by the government, until the Church of England stop being so blatantly dishonest and abusive and refuse to resolve the harm they have done through abuse and cover ups, please be quiet and stop misleading the Lords and the press, you are offending God, and you are doing so blatantly, and you are also offending me and other victims.
Your fake apology to victims is only seen as duplicity and the more you go on with this charade and misleading gullible people, the further from God your Church goes and the more defunct it becomes.

Your facilitating of abuse of me in the church times was beyond the pale, and if I have to go on putting up with this and my clergy discipline measure against you is not dealt with, I will go to court to stop you re-abusing victims to glorify the church.

sincerely,

The Church-led National CSA Inquiry

Dear Home Secretary,

I am writing to talk about the National CSA Inquiry, and the mess it has got into. I am sure you receive a lot of correspondence about it.
My letter to you is about the Church of England involvement in the CSA inquiry.

Both Baroness Butler-Sloss and Fiona Woold were not neutral, not just because of their connections in politics and law, but also because they were both Church of England positions holders. Baroness Butler-Sloss was famously a Church position holder and tried to avert the misconducts of a Bishop reaching public knowledge, but Fiona Woolf, as well as being in public office, was also a church position holder, and was on the PPC of a church. Now while some may count that as insignificant, I don't believe it is, especially not after Paul Butler. the Church of England's PR guy, started shouting in the press about the CSA inquiry. It really made me think.

The Church of England remain unable to deal with Safeguarding as they are still in the dark ages where abuse was pretty much a 'perk of the job'. I am sorry if that offends you as I realise that you are a Vicar's daughter and you may well have a bias to the church that will enable them to elect yet another of their own to lead the inquiry, but the thing is, that will not be an effective inquiry if you do, because the Church have done great wrong and a huge amount of institutional and serious abuse is their responsibility, which is why they should not be allowed to influence the CSA inquiry.

Undoubtedly you have heard of Kendal House and the horrific abuse that was carried out there, and as yet there has been no justice and no apology to victims, from the Church of England, who ran Kendal House, and it has had effects on generations of Kendal House survivors.

I also do not want the Kendal House victims to be further used as I have been, I was used for a PR stunt by the church, who seemed to be desparate to claim that they are good at safeguarding, and yet they publicly 'apologized' to me in the press, didn't bother to personally apologized, lied that they did, and spewed my private life all over the press which led to a smear campaign by my abusers' supporters and the wrongdoers who covered up for the abuse at my expense and vilified me.
As yet, nothing has been done about this and I remain anguished, unheard and living in fear because of the church and press vilifying me and leaving me driven from one community and another.
This would be catastrophic for Kenday House Survivors if they are allowed to be treated the same as I have been.
So, your inquiry, much as you may love the Church of England, needs to be independently led, not led by a Church position holder, because the extent of the church's past and continuing cover up and harm to victims does need to be seen, and as they still can't handle safeguarding but have continued relentlessly to harm me, they should not lead the inquiry, they should be being investigated from the outside either through the inquiry or through an independent body.

I am absolutely sure that Paul Butler or Justin Welby can and will do a PR stunt apology to Kendal House, and make a lot of noise about caring, and probably needlessly defame me as they did in a recent church times article, but public lavish showing off won't change the reality of the horrendous culture of the Church of England, which is a club where government and society condone and pay for these wealthy old people to throw their weight about, influence the press and abuse their power, the CofE most of the time forgets Jesus teaching and example. Jesus lived simply, homeless, dependent on others, and without the affectation and propaganda that the church spew into the press to cover for themselves.
I live simply and in poverty, the church took my career and home from me and I sleep on a mattress and look in bins and will never be able to have quality of life due to what the church have done to me. They are the modern day pharisees and they do not look after children or the vulnerable, in fact they have a very very discriminatory policy against the vulnerable and they call that 'safeguarding' and they actually believe themselves.

sincerely,

A quick note to the Archbishop yesterday

Dear Justin Welby,
I was dismayed to see that you are advertising yourself and your church on the front paper of your newspaper, the Daily Mail again today.
Please would you think about the poor and consider donating the money you pay the Daily Mail to spearhead your self-glorification campaigns to organizations which help the poor, such as the Trussel Trust, who run so many foodbanks nationwide? That way, the poor Benefit, and your terrible propaganda that misleads anyone silly enough to read the Daily Mail or Church Times ends, kill two birds with one stone.
Because you have destroyed me through your million pound Winchester and Jersey cover up and condoned the actions of wrongdoers and allowed me to be extensively villified as a result of your and Dakin's self-glorifying pretence of a safeguarding investigation at my expense, I can't stand to see you making a loud empty noise about the poor from your palace. Before your church destroyed me, I was working and supporting myself, but since you permenantly destroyed and branded me, I am reliant on foodbanks and don't really want your input about them, especially as, the same as with the Jersey case, you seem entirely ignorant regarding foodbanks.
Are you aware of why Foodbanks are overloaded with destitute people now? Well, when foodbanks got established, the Government saw that this was good, and the government work in the same way as their government department, the Church of England do. The government abolished crisis loans and community care grants and started writing foodbank tickets for DWP customers who had no money due to one or other error or cruelty by the DWP, so the government send people to foodbanks to save the government money.
And who runs the foodbanks? The churches. And the churches feel that they are doing their Christian duty. So local to us, a talk was given of how the Churches were blessed (or rather gullible) to be taking such responsibilities as the government drop them.
The outcome is, no, the government wont support foodbanks, because, just as the church destroyed me and refuse to restore what they have taken from me, the government are not going to put right the Foodbank crisis that they have caused, and Nanny Welby whining and self-glorifying is a bit silly, especially as Nanny Welby should have quietly resigned after the 'Wonga' situation and then the horrific Jersey mess which remains in every way unresolved.
Putting it bluntly, deal with your own church and the problems they cause, rather than self-glorifying through the Newspapers that are on your private payroll, you have messed up so badly that it astounds me that you are even there, let alone self-glorifying through the press.
You have told the world that you doubt that there is a God, and you act as if there is no God, so please resign.
In recent news, I saw that a Vicar in the Blackburn Diocese and his daughter had been arrested. I saw no point to make in order to put that article on my blog, as it is one Priest and the church tend to trot out the line 'we are all human' as second best to the line 'Don't judge', which is usually used at a time when the church are being very judgemental.
But, the thing is, you claim to provide 'A Christian presence in every community' and as every day, other Press, not your pet Daily Mail, report on sex acts and depravity within the church, you are failing to provide that so-called Christian presence in every community and your safeguarding policy, which segregates and blames the vulnerable, is a joke.
So please, if you have time for your Pet Paper to interview you, you have time to take action both about the way you have destroyed me and also the mess your church is in. Do you think you could stop the headline self-glorification and crocodile tears until such a time as you have done so?
Or at least give me a break over Christmas from your insipid and duplicious noise?
Please note, that during the more recent destroyal of me, from March last year to the present time, you have never once found time to reply to my concerns, so please can the noise in the press stop because your priorities are wrong, deal with your church first, then show off in the paper.
I have had no apology for your destroyal of me, and there is no excuse whatsoever for the damage inflicted on me by the church of england, none whatsoever. You have showed that you are not a Christian Church and that your priorities are image, cover-up and self-glorification.
The foodbank self-glorification appears to be you marshalling your sheeple to adore you. The problem is, the church of england, a wealthy old club, have no understanding of foodbank clients, and treat them as naughty children, while your puffed up church members feel really good to be 'doing their Christian duty'. This is the real church of england, and any amount of 'working parties' about safeguarding will fail as long as you continue to equate safeguarding with looking down on, excluding and segregating vulnerable adults as you do in your policy of excluding the vulnerable from people's homes, and even boasting in the Church Times articles that 'people took vulnerable people in and thought they were doing the right thing'
Your attitude is inexcusable. I was damaged by this Church Policy where paedophiles who pay into the church coffers are allowed into the homes of clergy people, as my abuser in Jersey was, but I was excluded with no explaination from my curate friend's home as soon as Jane Fisher found out I was friends with the curate and would go round for tea, I was neither told nor had the policy explained to me, and it damaged my friendship with the curate before Jane Fisher proceeded to destroy that friendship by using the curate against me, and of course that isn't in any of the whitewash reports you have done at my expense, because you have excluded me from all reports.

Lets move on to other press-related issues.
The Church Times is barely a newspaper, used mainly for Church of England propaganda and self-glorification. And recently they and the Church's pretence of care for the vulnerable campaign made yet another boo-boo.
An article about the disabled in Church read that 'Disabled people couldn't read the liturgy, because it was aimed at the wealthy middles classes'.
Well yes, it is aimed at the wealthy middle classes, because it is their club. But you have all forgotten something, disabled people can be both wealthy and middle class.
The other boo-boo there was that autism is mentioned over and over again and while you/the Church times claim that that the 'Old English' of the liturgy is too complex for those such as us.
The Church remain in the dark ages with no understanding of people with disabilities.
Someone with autism is generally average to high intelligence, and many, such as myself, tend to speak rather formally and understand straightforward formal, standard and BBC English and find such language easier to work with than slang and sloppy English.
The thing that makes us unwelcome in the Church is not the liturgy, the liturgy never troubled me, what makes us unwelcome is that you are judgemental, unwelcoming, exclusive, your safeguarding is a joke, and you destroy and exclude and belittle vulnerable people, from your positions of wealth and power. The Church of ENgland is a club for the wealthy, with no understanding of the poor and vulnerable, and that isn't going to change under spin doctor like Paul Butler, who has protected Jane Fisher after her serious and illegal misconduct, as you yourself are also doing, in fact nothing will change as long as you continue to shout in the press and ignore the serious damage to me and others.
The other issue is that predators who have money, and even those who do not, know that the church is the best place for easy pickings, and if it comes to it, as demonstrated in Jersey and Winchester, when it comes to it, the Church will support them, the predators, and drive the victim out if they speak up. In My Case Jane Fisher supported both of my abusers and everyone who upheld them, and went out of her way to successfully and completely destroy me and cover for them and for her own misconduct, and I remain profoundly affected.

Part of the slanderous article in the church times that defames me as a result of the cover ups and conflicted investigations is that Eli Ward's case came up, and again in other press.
I have spoken to Eli at length, and the brief sentences where he says he is glad of the outcome and hopes the church will implement the suggestions for change belies the years of harm to him by the church, not just in abuse but in cover ups, the fact that he was also wrongly labelled insane, a common church and government trick to take away a victim's credibility.
What Eli told me is that the Great Grim Church are cowards who use intimidation, which I have certainly experienced and remain in fear for my life, home and liberty due to Jane Fisher's actions against me, and when Eli came out with his story against the church, he used his real name so that you could do nothing, it certainly played a part in you setting up the self-glorification and spin about safeguarding campaign, but until you can see us as real suffering human beings, you will never know what safeguarding is, nor impliment it, and as your reports still omit Jane Fisher's horrific actions, probably the best place for them to be heard is in court, a real court, not one I am flung into, voiceless and unheard after a beating and imprisonment as has happened several times due to your 'safeguarding officer' and her cover ups at my expense.
The church use the poor, they do not do as Jesus did and minister them, Jesus loved the lost and needy, you tread on them, use them and abuse them, leaving them voiceless and violated.

I was incredulous to see, a week or so after being left in collapse by the Church Times defamation of me more recently, that you were in the paper, Mindlessly praising journalists, what, the ones who defamed me to glorify you and your church? Madeleine Davis who has been slandering me for months on end? The Daily Mail journalists who kiss your feet? Yes, it must be wonderful to be the other side of the cover ups and propaganda and praise the journalists you use for propaganda, cover-ups and self-glorifications, but I can assure you, you have repeatly nearly cost me my life and health through the same, so again I say, sort your own house out before you continue to make a fool of yourself. And if you continue to harm me, I will take you back to court.
Do the right thing in God's eyes for the first time in your rather laughable term in office, deal with the Jersey and Winchester matter through an independent investigation.
I think I need to explain to you what independent means, it means outside of the church and people associated with the matters that have occured.
For example, Paul Butler is not independent, he is associated with Jane Fisher and the Montagues who abused me and were allowed to defend themselves by adding their voice to the wrongdoers in Jersey. John Gladwin, who is a Church of England Bishop who played a part in the Chichester cover up, is not independent, neither is Jan Korris, neither is Butler-Sloss, neither is Dame Heather Steel, so as yet all you have done is whitewash at my expense.
And please note, this is not just about abuse, it is about criminal activities by Jane Fisher in conjunction with two Bishops of Winchester,

Please enable an independent inquiry or I will return you to court to plead with a judge for this, if there is any judge left in this country who is not corrupt, freemason, on your payroll etc. Nonetheless, even if you kill me or imprison me as incessantly attempted by Jane Fisher to silence me previously, my voice will not go away and you are responsible in God's eyes for all your deceit, cover-up and harm to me and other vulnerable people.
Wealth, power, use of the press, propaganda, whitewashes, segregation of the poor and vulnerable, cover-ups and defamation are not things that Jesus did, so you either need to call it a day and stop claiming to be a 'Christian presence in every community' and stick with the wealth and power and abuse of the press, or you need to become Christians and stop doing the harm that you are doing.

No matter how tight your collective cover-ups are, it remains you have never given me a fair hearing at all, and have lied about this too, and until you put that right, you are in the wrong with God and thus not fit to be holding the positions that you hold.
So, years and years too late, when are you going to act on this matter? Without beating and imprisoning me to silence me!

sincerely,

The only good thing about that pathetic disgusting abuse of me through the church times this morning is that it is increasing my blog stats and has made me more determined to smash the disgusting government department, the church of england for the ongoing harm they are inflicting on me.
It is time that government department closed down, no other department gets away with not just massive amounts of abuse but also cover ups and lies and whitewashes.

The Heads of the CSA inquiry have something in common! The CofE!

Butler-Sloss Church of England hand picked.
Fiona Woolf. Also, church of england.

Sits on St. Clements PCC.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiona_Woolf

Charitable work and other interests[edit]

Woolf is involved in supporting the work of a number of charitable and other organisations. She is a trustee of Raleigh International,[14] a governor of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama,[15] a trustee of the Friends of Oxford Shakespeare Company,[16] and a member of the Parochial Church Council of St Clement Eastcheap. She is also chairman of the Chelsea Opera Group Trust,[17] and is actively involved in the operation, fundraising and co-ordination of its volunteers, as well as being a member of its choir.

Don't consider this a co-incidence! The Church of England are controlling the inquiry, with their 'friends' in the government, a bit like the Jersey Deanery cover up only much Bigger.

This is why Paul Butler is shooting his mouth off, again.

Lost Last and Least

Everyone will remember Bishop Dakin's arrogant utterances until the end of time.

And I have been puzzled by his apparently un-Biblical, silly and arrogant 'Lost, last and least' speech forever.

In Church on Sunday, we heard the story of the men hired from the market place and paid the same for a day's work despite being hired at different times of day.

'The First Shall be last and the last shall be first'.

Of course.

I am the Lost, Last and Least.

And according to my friends, I am doing my purgatory here on earth at the hands of the Church of England.
Makes sense.
I have never seen anyone else publicly flogged as I have been, and by a Church! Penance for all my sins, here on earth.
According to my friends and other bloggers and commenters on my blog, I am closer up the ladder to heaven than my tormentors in the Church of England.
I am not sure I have the right to agree on that.

So, as long as I am lost, last and least, I will get to heaven.

While the arrogant clerics and denomination who brand me, while they have mansions and salaries, will be like the rich man who ignored Lazarus as he sat at their gate. Because they were first, with their finery, their public voice and showing off, so they will be last, they will not see heaven nor get a reward for their public showing off and deception. The Pharisees of the modern age.

As Sam Mezac famously said 'It is easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of? God?
Should that have been heaven?

Sam Mezec speaks about the Dean in the States - worth a watch, it speaks for me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fGhLjLTOcY

This should spark a desparate PR campaign by the Dean's supporting Diocese, the diocese of winchester who have destroyed me to protect him.

The reason this is posted is because it verbalizes what I have been trying for so long to say about separation of church and state, in the UK as well as Jersey. The Jersey situation is a miniature of the House of Lords UK situation .

Voice comments, fascinating

"If the point of this comment is to make you look clever, you failed..."

No, one point of that comment was to educate you ... and perhaps a few other readers who are conditioned into unquestioningly swallowing Jersey establishment misinformation.

Perhaps in your case (and any who are 'resistant to education') this was an unrealistic hope and I apologise. An effort domed to failure.

The main point (& in support of the video) is that The New Testament/ Christian message is largely a socialist one if one is going to attempt to analyse a religion along Left-Right/Party-Political lines.

The first poster "Anonymous 10:48" on this seems hyper focused on this left-right/socialist issue and perhaps tellingly plays the xenophobic scare card (perhaps racist even?)

"Anonymous" continues to shoot himself in the other foot by branding Sam/RJ as the "Looney left"

I have never seen the "Looney left"look so sensible. We surely have more of a problem with the "Rabid Right" in Jersey. In some cases the extreme right ;-)

As I and the video point out it is rather bizarre that the Christian (predominately socialist) message has been hijacked and even turned upon it's head in Jersey by "the Orifice of the Dean" and it's closely aligned Jersey Establishment.

Is anyone who too closely follows this leadership inadvertently stumbling into damnation rather than the resurrection they so desperately seek?

The intervention of the Jersey establishment has apparently "exonerated" Dean Bob Key

Does this mean that Bob Key has WITHDRAWN HIS APOLOGY for his safeguarding failures and his subsequent mishandling ?????

If so Bob Key has shown himself to be rather lacking in moral backbone to have let himself be bullied into making said apology in the first place?

Of course Bob Key would avoid an interview with VFC because BALANCE would require him to answer these difficult questions and many others !

Dean Bob Key has only been pronounced "exonerated" inside the ultra-insular Jersey bubble. The ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY'S apology still stands.
They don't grow on trees you know, and Team Bailhache again shafts Jersey internationally.

What were you saying about the [back] office of your dean?
Shine a light on that if you dare.......

Good stuff, the communist or Nazi comment is quite complex but the uppity Anglican who owns the dean is pushed into a sulk! :)

  1. Anonymous22 September 2014 20:16

The Dean provides an important non-aligned independent voice and spiritual insight within the States Chamber, the Dean make no claims to direct representation, his office seeks to be a voice for all people of faith, not just Christians.

Stop skirting around the issue, and ask the Dean for an interview VFC...

    Good idea Anony @ 20:16

VFC If you decide to invite the Dean for an interview would you please add these to your list of questions from a person that has not seen a wage increase increase a very long time.

    a. Who paid for the rebuilding of the town church organ costing £250,000 ?

    b. The position of Dean as acknowledged head of the CoE in Jersey, is a recipient state benefits, can he please explain how he is a non-aligned independent voice, as Anony @ 20.16 and probably others claim ?

    c. Do the mature members of Government need lectures on spiritual insight, does the Dean feel that if this is the case they should attend their own churches ?

    d. For what reason was the Dean sent to Maderia after the HG problem. Did the tax payers fund the trip, and if so what was the purpose, obviously not politics as he is not elected.

    e. Dr Gavin Ashenden speaking on BBC Jersey to Matthew Price was asked how much money annually Jersey contributes to the diocese off island, he replied in the region of £800,000 as the Dean is head of the CoE what is the exact amount and could he also supply the amount figure the parishes pay for the upkeep of the churches and other staff expenses.

    f. Is the Dean comfortable living in a mansion and receiving a wage that would help purchase food for Jersey's active food bank charity, does he know Gerry Padden ?

Gerry Padden, from the Grace Trust, said: "We're quite a wealthy island and we have people who are struggling to make ends meet.

  3. Jesus ..... a Communist or a Nazi?
Well there is a little bit for everybody in the "good book" (inc. current editions) but on balance Jesus cannot be accurately described as either Communist or a Nazi.

Of the two, the bible describes him as far closer to a Communist who was tortured to death by occupying and occupied Nazi regimes. I think it fair to describe him as a deep pink socialist, at the very least.

After a few decades Christianity was adopted by the (Nazi) regime of Rome and spread thought the empire and a millennia later across much of the world by conquistadors and missionaries and regularly enforced with an iron hand and a sharp blade.
In more recent times there have been wholesale theft of children from tribal communities so that their children can be "saved", and all too regularly abused and serial raped. Even in [civilised' countries like Canada!!!

So the Jersey Dean is hardly anything new. Just the local incarnation of the theo-political animal coming in political shades from deep blue to black.

The christian message is lost to a PR soundbite as cover for the most unchristian behaviours.

If there is a god, perhaps this is her way of trapping the morally and intellectually weak and the easily led?

Well, isn't life a bitch? LOL

I am a right leaning liberal but socialism is nothing to be ashamed of. "Socialism" gives us things such as universal education (yes, even for poor children), Pensions for old people (yes, including those who made little or no SS contributions; which came into existence later) And medical treatment for ill people like Kristina Moore (or did she go 100% private .....within a "socialist" funded hospital)

So people like the persistent commenter on this thread who seek to use the word "socialist" (or even liberal?) as an insult, are either ........

    .....rather stupid
    or
    .....rather fascist

This is shocking, but not uncommon as some of the extremes of conservatism, religious-conservatism and neo-conservatism are well into fascist territory.

I'm just going to nick comments off VoiceforChildren's blog and see if they object or lynch me

  1. 12:12 "majority of the Jersey electorate are Christian and as such are happy to see Christianity represented in the States of Jersey by the orifice of the Dean."

I would dispute that the majority of the Jersey electorate are Christian as in being Church-goers and God fearing people. It is possible for people to live by Christian values and morals without having to adhere to any religion, and the vast majority of good, thinking, intelligent people I know and speak to have actually turned away from a faith for a large number of reasons.

I agree wholly with Sam that this man should not be funded by the tax-payer to sit in the States. I am sure there are many deserving people or causes that could make good use of his salary, whilst he himself could be spending that time more usefully.

Whilst you have been diplomatic enough VFC not to get drawn into the discussion of what the Dean does, or does not do in the Island, a lot of us have long memories and could actually pin-point an instance where he clearly did nothing, when clearly he should.

As is proven time and time again religion and politics do not and should not mix.

  2. I agree completely with Sam's view here: there should be full separation of Church and State, and the Dean should not be allowed to participate in debates in the States. However, let's be honest (and I suspect you will get around to this in Part 2), the presence of the Dean is inconsequential when compared to the fact that a significant proportion of full States members (i.e. Constables and Deputies) are "elected" unopposed or by a tiny number of voters.

I'm afraid I include Sam himself in this category. Sam received 277 votes in a turn-out of 13%. This gives him no moral right whatsoever to lecture anybody about other States members having no right to participate in debates, when he himself was returned on such a laughably small vote.

I will give him and the other Reform Party candidates a lot more credit if they stand on an island-wide mandate rather than in the deputorial elections. The fact that they seek to bring about fundamental reform of the Island through the broken deputorial system does them as little credit as the establishment's perpetuation of the equally unacceptable system of Constables sitting in the States.

  3. Hi VFC,

Off topic, but have you seen that @politicsjersey tweet today...?

"Home Affairs Minister says the Graham Power suspension could've been handled better, regrets the cost but says outcome would've been same"

We are talking hundreds of thousands of pounds wasted and the unblemished reputation of a great chief police officer being unfairly attacked, to cover up the misdeeds of others. It remains an absolute scandal.

Perhaps you could get Graham Power to write an open letter to Ian Le Marquand, asking him exactly how it could have been handled better? Maybe Ian Le Marquand could have chosen not to hide in the toilet when Graham Power's wife tried to serve legal papers on him? Is that how it could have been handled better, Ian, eh?

    What a total disgrace!

  4. Something tells me the disgraced Home Affairs Minister(s) haven't seem/heard the last from Graham Power yet.
  5. Excellent news.
  6. In fact Graham Power QPM doesn't necessarily disagree with Ian Le Marquand in that "the outcome would've been same." Ian Le Marquand had positioned himself both as prosecutor and judge! What other outcome could there have been?
  7. As with some of ILM's other cases where he is conflicted, including in the church.

This comment from VoiceforChildren's latest blog kind of says what I have tried to say for so long. Voice can lynch me for nicking it

Just to add my own comment, the CofE is a club where wealthy elderly people put their 10% in and look down on others as they believe their membership makes them Christians.

This is the blog post that the comment below comes from:

Taken fron the Guernsey press comments section. The debate is running in parallel with the Deans position on Jersey.

We have the same problem in Jersey.

As many of you may be aware history tells us that the horny king Henry the VIII had trouble being married to one woman, and the Vatican being Catholic would not allow divorce. Not a problem if you are the king of England so he basically formed his own church, the Church of England and placed himself as it’s head. Then he could and would and did as he pleased including chopping of his wife’s head or imprisoning them.

The Vatican was wealthy and the CoE was funded by the people with the King as the overall leader.

This church has been handed down from Monarch to Monarch through the centuries and now the Queen is boss the subjects fund the church as do the congregations.

It is high time that this historic feudal setup is scrapped for several reasons some of which are mentioned above. Whichever God you may worship, it is your choice, but all religion’s as in the Mormons, Catholics,’ Muslims etc should be paid for by followers. All have charity status meaning they are not obliged to pay taxes.

It is discriminatory against other religions that the tax and ratepayers fund the Queens inherited religion. Why should other religions or atheists have to dig into their pockets to support the CoE when there is no connection ?

The strongest personal objection is that religion is invited into Government in a lobbying capacity and to say prayers and be rewarded by the taxpayer is just ridiculous. I am unsure of the pay in Guernsey but the Dean Bob Key in Jersey receives £26,100 per year in addition to everything else, everything else means a very large newly painted rectory and all utility and accounts paid, plus a recent tax funded trip to Madeira representing Jersey.

This may have been the norm in Henry VIII time but it is nothing short of a scandal today. The big question is why the States members are allowing this abuse of public money.

A comment above says it is not particularly expensive to fund the CoE, I disagree. The Church of England accounts show a portfolio of property, ( the Wonga shareholding has been removed after criticism ) shares and other assets valued at £5 billion.

They can afford to fund themselves, and if they are supposed to be doing Christ’s work how is it that they are sitting on such a fortune, given the amount of starving, poor and destitute in this world ?

That’s a question States members might be asking their Dean.

Bob Hill has some interesting information on his blog.
