I posted these tweets on twitter but they are very relevant to the way the States of Jersey and diocese of Winchester treat abuse survivors

The days of making abuse survivors out to be 'mentally ill' and thus 'not credible' should be over now!

when someone is abused they suffer psychological harm and distress, this is not insanity, it is a reaction to reality.

Authorities that make survivors not credible by using mental illness as an excuse are abusive and re-abusing survivors

survivors can become mentally ill as the result of such bad treatment by authorities who do not want abuse investigated

often because the abuser is someone with power that the authorities do not wish to tangle with

This attitude by authorities and services, costs vulnerable survivors their lives on one way or another.
